Getting back into the swing of things

So, the wedding is over, I’ve been to BlizzCon and Ruby Midwest this weekend (since my day job is being a software engineer), and now it’s time for me to get back to crafting.

I promise to get a store setup, I’m working on re-wrapping some earrings as they aren’t as sturdy as I would like, and I’m working on some new nerdy ideas to get back into the St. Louis convention season in full swing.

Hopefully more updates will be coming soon as I get things taken care of!

Long time no see

So, it’s been a while since I have done any kind of significant…okay, any update, but I do have good reason: I am getting married this weekend. Being a crafter, seamstress, and jeweler, my fiancee and I have been doing quite a bit of work ourselves, and with last month’s trip to Otakon, I’ve been taking some official time off of the convention scene. Do not worry though, I will be back in full swing once I unlock the wedding ring achievement.

Because smaller is cuter, right?

Hanging out at my booth at DieCon, and I finally had both the time and the yarn to try making the tiny little Jayne hats.  The expression of “what did you just do?” from Black Paladin made it completely worth it.

Finally taking some time to lay down the dicework and knitting to do some work on the site. Check out the new galleries, and as always, feel free to fill up my free time with commissions.

Adventures in Loose Change

image

Had someone come up to me asking what I could do for her for the random change she had found. I won the bid and got to make her plushie an earring. Way too cute.

Anime St. Louis

Now that I’m almost all the way though this convention, I’m rather sad that I haven’t been to this convention for a few years, because it is quite fun. I happened to be placed right next to Sew it All Creations, got to hang with IdeaFish and my friends over at Happy Badger.

I would like to take this time to apologize to all the Hufflepuffs that stopped by after I sold the only one I brought. I have learned, there will be more next time.

I made it home alive!

So, okay, I did make it home last night, but there was now way I could have posted then. Planet Comicon was officially a blast. Hanging out with the other artists and vendors definitely kept things interesting. Right after the convention we stopped by Joann’s fabric (on the other side of the parking lot), and I found some of the most awesome dice beads there, I need to stop by the store in town and see if I can find the glow in the dark versions there (they were out in KC, unfortunately).

This week I’ve got a bit of free time, so I’m going to try to either get a storefront up here or get my etsy updated, then its knitting and beadwork until Anime St Louis.

Planet Comicon

image

Having a blast out at Planet Comicon this weekend out in Kansas City. Hanging with Katherine from Sew it All Creations, and this is definitely an interesting convention for me. This is my first comic book convention, and I can say that I am definitely a fan. There is both a contingent from the 501 and the 405, and two guys with the most epic Iron Man costumes I’ve ever seen. They costumes were not resin like most of the suites I’ve seen, but fully metal. Tomorrow should be another interesting day, and if you are in the area, definitely hit us up!
